Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Machining Tech V for our Threadroll department on 2nd Shift for our City of Industry, California location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Good communication skills & knowledge of basic shop math
- Able to read, write and understand basic instructions in English
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Able to lift/move up to 30 pounds regularly
- Able to learn how to use measurement instruments
- Ability to follow direction
- Ability to complete first piece verification
- Maintain a good attitude and be willing to learn
- Communicates effectively with other team members and Production Team Leader
- Be familiar with Human Performance tasks
- Able to perform entry level set-ups
- Understand the speeds and feeds pertaining to the machine they are operating (where applicable)
- Knowledge of all measuring instruments and gages for their operation
- Able to speak effectively before groups of co-workers, customers, auditors, etc.
- Able to read and interpret blue prints
- Working knowledge in manufacturing and quality processes and principles
- Able to comply to all SPC daily Requirements (if applicable)
- Able to understand and maintain machine complements (when applicable)
- LOTO certified
- Able to assist supervisor and lead person in the training of Machining Tech I-III
- Able to cross train in other areas as required
- Able to understand and meet department goals & metrics
- Participate in ABS Kaizen events as required
- Independently sets up, operates, and trouble shoots machinery for self/others
- Able to operate all standard machines related to the process in their assigned process
- Able to assist supervisor and lead person in the training of Machining Tech I-V
- Have the ability to support other Howmet facilities
- Able to demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to use and demonstrate expertise in area to make recommendations to management to improve design, material, productivity, and/or machining
- dependently run and set-up hand feed T/R machines and 10/20 frame
- Independently run and set up Waterbury/Hartford hand feed T/R machines
- Independently run and set up the 30 frame Reed T/R machine
- Independently run and set-up automatic T/R machines 0/10/20/30 frame
- Able to run Menn and Saspi T/R machines
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Threadroll required
- Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Benefits/Salary:
The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation. The salary range for this position is $25/hr to $35/hr
