Overview
The primary function of the Assistant Facility Security Officer is to provide multi-disciplined security support. In addition, this position shares visit authorization and facility certification responsibilities with the Facility Security Officer and serves as an alternate to the Facility Security Officer. Day to day duties will be managed by the FSO while reporting to the Vice President, Security.
Target salary range: $40,000 - $65,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with LMI staff, subcontractors, and consultants to submit appropriate security clearance applications.
- Prepare and maintain badge request lists. Obtain and ensure timely renewal of DoD passes for LMI staff, subcontractors, and consultants. Administer LMI internal identification badges systems. Send digital ID photo to HR for use in the HR Systems.
- Maintain Security Clearance databases, including but not limited to DISS, NISS, NBIS, etc.
- Enter and update data to the internal badge key access system (e.g., names, access location/dates/ times, lock downs, etc.).
- Prepare Visit Authorization letters for personnel.
- Perform document accounting, transmittal, and destruction.
- Monitor and maintain surveillance camera programs and systems to ensure consistent recording and operation.
- Perform routine administrative tasks to support the regular operations of the security function, including mail distribution, generating administrative department correspondence, and materials inventory and supplies maintenance.
- Fill in for receptionist on an as needed bases.
- Respond to all requests of the security office in the absence of the Facility Security Officer.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Travel may be required, possibly including weekends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, plus five years of experience in government security program preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Proficiency with word processing systems, database and spreadsheet software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to compose, write, edit, and proofread business correspondence.
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills, and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships throughout the organization and with external points of contact.
- Ability to contribute to a professional work environment by demonstrating integrity, promoting teamwork, and fostering positive communication.
- Strong time management skills and ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks with little supervision. Must be self-directed and detail oriented in completing assigned tasks.
