Work Schedule: Position to begin Spring '25 semester. This tenure track position typically works mid-Aug to mid-May with pay and benefits over 12 months.

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing instruction and serving as an advisor to students enrolled in English composition and literature courses.

The Department: The English and Humanities Division at North Idaho College has developed a curriculum that prepares students for both academic transfer and professional-technical programs. The mission of English and Humanities is to provide learning experiences that meet students' needs; to enhance students' knowledge and skills related to composition, general education, and liberal arts; and to instill a desire for students to pursue life-long learning.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: Master's degree in English with an emphasis in rhetoric and composition, literature, linguistics, or related field. Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from multi-cultural backgrounds.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong ability to connect their disciplinary knowledge to successful pedagogical practice.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and associated peripherals and current version of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, Internet, and alternative delivery systems (e.g., internet and interactive video) at a proficient level.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including phone and copier
