The base hourly rate for this position is $17.04

Position Overview

Blanking Machine Operator I is able to operate at least one automated machine in the Blanking department (Slitter, Blanking Machine 1 or Blanking Machine 2). Perform all tasks involved in production; this may include setting up and operating equipment, cutting, grinding, wrapping, weighing, baling, labeling, cleaning, participating in inventory counts, or other tasks as assigned.Follow standard work methods and practicing safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment to cut blanks following the production schedule provided by the team leader or supervisor.
  • Set up and load equipment to produce the sizes needed. Make adjustments as needed to ensure good quality.
  • Clear workstation and scrap bin when finished working in that area.             
  • Assist in blanking department cleanup, including scrap baling and general housekeeping.       
  • Fill out daily hand blanking production report.    
  • Inspect equipment, raw material, and finished blanks for defects. 
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and/or overtime        
  • Perform other duties as assigned.   

Education and/or Experience and Skills

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
  • +1 years’ experience as machine operator.
  • English proficiency and ability to read and interpret safety documents and operating instructions.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Keen attention to detail to identify maintenance, product, or operations issues.
  • Ability to complete repetitive tasks daily and meet production goals.
