Business Safety Operations Advisor [HYBRID]

Become a Business Safety Operations Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. As a part of the Safety Management System department you’ll be responsible for independently leading safety efforts – large or small – that may have impacts across the enterprise. This role will coordinate the activities of other teams, develop messaging plans, resources and materials, and is accountable for driving outcomes.
The advisor will have extensive technical expertise and full knowledge in developing safety messages that will direct how programs and processes are developed. You'll be expected to lead activities, often those with high-hazard organizations, that are considered complex, technical, and indirectly and directly influencing the Company objective of eliminating serious injuries and fatalities.

- Applying decision-making that will affect the outcome of the project and positively influence frontline employees
- Responsible for elements of the Safety Management System such as developing outreach plans and messaging to stakeholders
- Responsible for development of high hazard resources for frontline employees, such as the Weekly Incident Report
- Establish and lead project intake processes
- Develop and communicate material and resources for safety activities
- Manage Safety Portal content and design, and related resources such as CraftComm
- Partner with peer advisor to plan/implement logistics, coordinate Edison Safety’s participation and develop messaging for key safety events such as Business Briefing. Will also work with executives and frontline employees to gain insight on audience need, and project and messaging effectiveness
- Lead and/or contribute to efforts that engage high-hazard organizations in serious injury and fatality elimination
The essentials
- 7 years of experience in communicating and implementing safety programs and initiatives
- 3 years of experience managing/leading programs and projects
The preferred
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics or other related discipline
- Experience developing and delivering technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences
You should know
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
