In this job, you’ll will lead and develop high impact sourcing strategies within the Direct Materials Procurement organization for various categories such as poles, transmission towers, engineered-to-order substation apparatus, wire and cable, transformers, MRO supplies, safety equipment, or chemicals and gases. Responsibilities
- Reviews and negotiates company-wide commercial agreements for various procurements
- Identifies, drives, and implements suitable procurement approaches to deliver lowest energy cost, designs, and cost savings strategies across the department
- Negotiates contracts and reviews opportunities to reduce costs using negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods
- Understands and applies business tools (financial, logistical, commercial, risk, cost analysis, etc.) to attain desired results
- Identifies and executes energy purchasing opportunities through progressive purchasing contracts or long-term fixed deals
- Ensures that corporate procurement policy and procedure is being followed
- Conducts category management in accordance with the overall procurement strategy, processes and procedures and ensures category management delivers against targets and objectives
- Identifies continuous improvement opportunities, assessing current and future business processes for best work practice, as well as innovative procurement solutions that provide cashable savings and process efficiencies for the organization
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Seven or more years of experience in supply chain, procurement, and/or contract management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
- Five (5) or more years of experience negotiating contracts.
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM), Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Experience performing complex analysis to utilize data when performing internal and external market assessments and making recommendations in support of sourcing strategies.
- Experience with Microsoft office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, SAP, and Ariba.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including oral presentations, formal correspondence and contractual documentation, group facilitation, and negotiations.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- The primary work location for this position is Pomona, CA. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time atLong Beach and Rosemead, CA.
- Position will require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
