Job Summary: The CEJA (Climate and Environmental Jobs Act) Outreach Navigator is responsible for providing outreach and community education to eligible populations to raise awareness of opportunities to participate in CEJA programs and to engage with diverse community, employer, and workforce stakeholders to reflect both the opportunities and the needs of the emerging regional clean energy economy. The Navigator will effectively help participants navigate program options, assist with enrollment in training and access to wraparound services, and provide connection to apprenticeships and employment. The CEJA Outreach Navigator will be essential to developing new and cultivating existing business relationships to establish industry workforce needs and establishing connections with related training providers.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Related duties may be assigned.
· Conduct CEJA outreach events and activities to share information on training and careers in the energy industry with diverse populations and ensure communication and marketing is delivered in underserved areas
· Create partnerships with regional educational institutions, community organizations, local employers, and labor unions to connect with eligible individuals
· Raise awareness of the CEJA workforce programs in the region by providing information to organizations, individuals and other relevant stakeholders
· Provide appropriate referrals for individuals to training programs and assist in navigating the enrollment process to all CEJA-related programs
· Maintain participant files and reports in compliance with program requirements
· Establish a network of contacts and partners in the community to effectively make participant referrals
· Organize outreach events, fairs, and presentations to ensure effective communication of program and related opportunities
· Establish positive rapport with individuals and partner agencies in the community
· Show acceptance and flexibility in dealing with persons from disadvantaged social, economic and educational backgrounds
· Maintain confidentiality and strong ethical practices while working with participants
· Other duties as assigned
· Consistently demonstrate ability to work with a variety of audiences including partners and program participants
· Consistently demonstrate ability to communicate with diverse groups in multiple mediums, including but not limited to, electronic, written, and spoken

Minimum Qualifications:
 
· Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred, (major in human services, psychology, sociology, or related field preferred) *
· Two years of workforce development or human services experience preferred
· Working knowledge of various clean energy fields preferred *
· Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with barriers to employment and understand and communicate with diverse groups
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
 
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting. Primarily works with a diverse staff and partners to ensure appropriate and effective services
