As a membership organization of mental health professionals, the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) is dedicated to the highest standards of excellence and integrity. Our primary purpose is to establish and uphold standards of practice, training, certification, and research, provide information, education, and advocacy, and assist practitioners in fulfilling their responsibilities to the public.

Benefits:

We offer exceptional employee benefits and a fantastic salary of $55k-60k annually, depending on experience. We offer one of the best available benefit programs for small businesses, including:

  • Comprehensive health coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance provided
  • Robust retirement planning: 401(k) plan available with employer matching
  • Financial security: Life and disability insurance for added protection
  • Flexible financial options: Health savings and flexible spending accounts offered
  • Well-being and work-life balance: Paid time off, flexible schedule, and remote work choices provided

Plus, we work to maintain the best environment for our employees, where people can learn and grow with the company. We strive to provide a collaborative, creative environment where everyone feels encouraged to contribute to our processes, decisions, planning, and culture.

As the Certification Specialist, you will manage and maintain the organization's certification process, ensuring compliance with Association standards and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with internal teams and external organizations to ensure that certifications are obtained, maintained, and renewed promptly and efficiently. To succeed in this role, you must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

To thrive, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, quality management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience highly valued.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in association and certification management; knowledge of mental health, EMDR therapy, and trauma care preferred.
  • Preferred experience with database management (e.g., Impexium) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Solid organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet strict deadlines, and work both autonomously and within a team.

Your responsibilities as the Certification Specialist will include:

  • Oversee the entire certification lifecycle, including application, renewal, and compliance with Association standards.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the organization and applicants.
  • Coordinate and prepare necessary documentation for certification audits and assessments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all certification activities and documentation.
  • Develop and implement systems for tracking certification deadlines, requirements, and renewals.
  • Prepare reports for management on certification status.
  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure certification goals are met.
  • Communicate effectively with applicants, training and continuing education bodies, and the public.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements related to certification programs and activities.
  • Lead or participate in initiatives to improve the organization’s certification program.

If you're ready to contribute to a mission-driven organization and support mental health professionals in their certification journey, we’d love to hear from you!
