Overview

As a primary point of contact, this position supports the credit union’s mission through effective sales and service, targeted business development efforts and community involvement. The Commercial Relationship Manager (CRM) is responsible for developing and managing business relationships in accordance with OnPoint Credit Union’s core values and prescribed sales process in an assigned area. Primary focus is establishing and maintaining loan, fee and deposit production, while managing a medium-large portfolio of business relationships.

Responsibilities

Sales

  • Develop & implement a business lending sales plan to achieve monthly sales and profitability objectives outlined in the Credit Union’s sales program expectations.
  • Identify needs and sell all credit union products to broaden and deepen relationships with members and prospects, adhering to the Credit Union’s prescribed process.
  • Develop and utilize centers of influence to help generate referrals.

Portfolio Management

  • Manage a portfolio of larger business credits and provide financial solutions that address member needs.
  • Maintain high level of product knowledge to enable the sale of loans, deposit and business services products, and the referral of retail and wealth products.
  • Prepare credit packages for review and approval by credit partners.
  • Perform loan servicing duties to ensure conformity with loan terms and conditions.
  • Assist in collection of loan delinquencies in a timely manner.
  • Interview loan applicants and originate loans for centralized approval.
  • Recommend appropriate denied loans for exception approval.

Risk Mitigation/Compliance

  • Monitor portfolio performance take action necessary to ensure compliance with goals/standards for watch list credits, charge offs, loan documentation exceptions, loan servicing expectations and CRA activity.
  • Escalate problem loans as needed.
  • Complete all required compliance and credit training and adhere to all compliance policy.

Partnerships

  • Maintain a productive working relationship with Business Lending Colleagues and other Credit Union Divisions, bringing sales partners into client relationships as needed to manage the total financial services for our members and prospects.
 

Community

  • Represent OnPoint in various civic and community functions to further enhance the Credit Union’s image and development of additional business.

Qualifications

  • Extensive prior sales and prospecting experience to include development and review of financial portfolios with business members.
  • Experience in a financial sales and/or banking sales role where acquiring and managing relationships has been critical to your success.
  • College degree preferred
  • Must have a proven track record of credit/lending sales experience meeting sales quotas.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to build a portfolio through strong business development skills.
  • Ability to lead/conduct meetings with Business Members with guidance and direction for their lending needs.
  • Knowledge of finance and of consumer lending, including the processes to achieve solid underwriting decisions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Focus XP or similar operating system.
  • A track record of demonstrated credit/lending sales experience strongly desired.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor degree with a min. of 3 years of experience in business lending (commercial/ business banking, commercial real estate). -Or- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 7 years experience in (commercial/ business banking, commercial real estate).
