Job Summary

This is a full-time, ten-month, term-contract faculty appointment in the Computer & Information Technology program within the Business, Computer and Information Systems Division. Bluegrass Community and Technical College is designated as a NSA/DHS Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense through the CIT program, the position requires flexibility of scheduling which will include both on-campus and online classes and is intended to fulfill our networking instruction needs.

Job Duties:

• Lead in-person and online instruction related to Computer and Information Technology.

• Maintain at least five in-person office hours per week.

Advise current and prospective students for program and career-related counseling.

• Participate in recruitment and retention activities.

• Participate in department and college committee as assigned.

Provide input regarding curriculum development and enhancement.

• Complete all required College and KCTCS mandatory trainings in addition to attending other professional development activities relevant to personal interest.

• Develop and maintain a working relationship with local industry.

• Enforce high expectations related to professional behavior (including punctuality, respect for leadership, teamwork, and written/verbal communication skills).

• Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a computer field.  

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a computer field.

Additional Skills Requested:

At least two years of teaching experience with both face-to-face and online formats.

Experience with Blackboard and other instructional technology.

Cisco networking certifications.
