As the Cooper Product Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimize copper cable assemblies using your deep understanding of copper metallurgy, cable assembly processes, and industry standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality, cost-effective cable assemblies that meet customer specifications and industry requirements.
To thrive, you should have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cable assembly design or manufacturing.
- Solid knowledge of copper conductor properties and cable assembly design software.
- Experience with wire and cable termination techniques (crimping, soldering, welding) and process optimization.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Your responsibilities as the Copper Product Engineer, you will:
- Design and develop copper cable assemblies tailored to customer specifications, including conductor size, insulation, and termination types.
- Optimize cable assembly processes for improved efficiency, yield, and quality.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to implement efficient procedures and ensure product consistency.
- Troubleshoot assembly issues and work with operations and quality to implement corrective actions.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in copper cable technology, ensure adherence to relevant standards, and develop training materials.
