Overview
LMI is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Engineer to provide support to a United States Army client to modernize, build and deploy existing and new solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in cybersecurity, specifically in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud solutions in compliance with Army Standards and DoD regulations. The Cyber Security Engineer will work closely with a larger team as the primary cybersecurity professional to ensure successful implementation and maintenance of key software solutions.

Note: This position is remote but will require travel to the Fort Belvoir and Tysons Corner Area
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud solutions aligned with Army Standards and DoD regulations
- Collaborate with Army stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of cloud solutions into the Army's existing IT infrastructure
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and user manuals
- Provide technical guidance and support to Army personnel and contractors working on cloud solutions to ensure compliance with cyber security regulations
- Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies, and recommend changes to the cloud environment as needed
- Ensure compliance with Army cybersecurity standards and best practices
- Provide guidance and leadership with Interim Authority to Operate and Authority to Operate documentation, mitigation and management
- Provide regular status reports to senior Army leaders and LMI management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is highly desirable
- At least 8 years of experience in cybersecurity, including experience with cloud security, network security, and system security
- Experience developing and implementing system information security standards and procedures in a DoD Cyber Security Enterprise Environment
- Experience with Security control implementation and inherited security controls
- Must meet DoD 8570.01 certification requirements for Information Assurance Technology (IAT) Level II.
- Experience in testing, evaluating, and preparing systems for security certification under NIST and RMF for IS guidance
- Familiarity with Cybersecurity policy, guidance, and training requirements.
- Experience working with Army stakeholders and contractors
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with Army cybersecurity standards and best practices
- Familiarity with Army financial regulations and cost optimization strategies
- Experience with STIGS and how inheritance works
- Understanding of mapping controls to a control family
- Active Secret clearance required
- No specific certifications are required; however, various certifications may be relevant though the list is not inclusive

- GIAC Cloud Security Automation (GCSA)
- Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
