Job Description:

The Role

As Director Cloud Architecture, you will work within the Fidelity Enterprise Architecture team supporting Workplace Investments Cloud Centre of Excellence (WI Cloud CoE) team accelerating Fidelity's journey to the cloud. You will work with Enterprise teams, Cloud Service Partners such as Azure, AWS and Fidelity business partners building exceptional cloud capabilities to accelerate their velocity of value using cloud native technologies. This role is focused on enablement of cloud services and delivery with a focus on data and data movement in the cloud environment, which requires a combination of both strong technical and influencing skills, as well as participation in architecture, design, and analysis activities. You will be responsible for driving the POC [Proof of Concept] and implementation of many of the cloud services, documenting architectural cloud patterns and supporting multiple teams and products across WI.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • BS or MS degree in a computer-related field is required
  • Cloud certifications in Azure, AWS or other cloud providers is a plus
  • Extensive experience with 2 or more programming languages (Java, Python, etc.)
  • 10+ years of IT experience with 3+ years of extensive experience on Cloud platform and cloud technologies/services
  • Experience in building resilient cloud architecture, site reliability engineering and exposure to Observability.
  • Strong understanding across cloud infrastructure components (server, storage, network, data, and applications) to deliver end to end Cloud based architecture and solution.
  • Deep understanding of well architected framework implementation in Enterprises: Operation excellent, Security, reliability, performance efficiency and cost optimization.
  • Experience with web, event driven, caching, batch architectures, crafting systems for high efficiency, low latency, high availability, and fault tolerance
  • Strong presentation, documentation, communication and influencing skills for working with less-technical business partners as well as technologists in IT leadership and implementation teams.
  • Experience in networking across business units and outside the companies to optimize new reusable processes, patterns, and practices with world class results.
  • Passion for staying ahead of on technology trends to shift direction and drive results.

How Your Work Impacts the Organization

You will be part of the Fidelity Enterprise Architecture team supporting the WI Cloud COE team and provide strategic technology direction and architecture vision for building and enhancing innovative cloud technology platforms.

The Workplace Investments Cloud Centre of Excellence team partners with delivery teams and builds cloud capabilities to accelerate cloud onboarding. This distributed team, applies multi-cloud native stacks while using industry leading methodologies, built using the latest technologies while ensuring high levels of resiliency and security. The team adopts a continuous learning approach to pursue engineering excellence in the cloud in a collaborative, open and clear culture.
