Director, Asset Management Strategic Business Initiatives
The Role
Lead or participate in strategic programs critical to Asset Management and often central to our multi-year plan. These programs are typically supported by a cross-functional team of associates from AM and our partner organizations (e.g. Fidelity Fund & Investment Operations, Legal, Fidelity Consulting). As Director, you will assist in scoping the initial program and help lead the program to a successful outcome. Programs typically last anywhere from 3-24+ months. Recent examples of Strategic Business Initiatives work include - Asset Management ETF strategy, liquid alternatives and custom SMA program, Active Equity Transition to QRI.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Experience in the asset management, wealth and/or capital markets industry
- Demonstrated experience leading or participating in large and complex programs
- Outstanding analytical, communication, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to synthesize complex analysis and research into strategic insights and practical recommendations
- Influence over middle to senior management, through both personal interactions as well as the creation and delivery of presentations
- Excellent engagement skills, including the ability to work across asset management as well as other Fidelity business units
- Ability to assess risk and operationalize findings - turning research into actions
- Quantify challenges and requirements related to execution
Expertise and Skills You Bring
- 10+ years of project management and/or consulting skills
- Proficiency in MS Office tools
- Ability to handle complexity and achieve results despite constantly shifting priorities
- Ability to communicate business priorities to support the achievement of business goals
- Proven strategic planning and goal setting including the ability to identify priorities and propose resource(s) and budget(s) required to implement and maintain an initiative
- Ability to communicate business priorities and translate how marketing initiatives support the achievement of business goals and their commercial implications
- Proven strategic planning and goal setting including the ability to identify priorities and propose resource(s) and budget(s) required to implement and maintain an initiative
- Financial services industry experience preferred

Strategic Business Initiatives (SBI) is a team tasked with driving the most strategic and complex programs in Asset Management. The team is highly valued by, and visible to, the AM leadership team.
