Job Description and Requirements

The Financial Reporting Analyst will prepare financial reports for the credit union and its subsidiaries.  They will also assist in the production of various monthly, quarterly, year-end, and fiscal year-end financial reports.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively utilize PC based applications to accurately prepare and update financial reporting and other time sensitive documentation.
  • Produce various financial, statistical and operational analysis as well as special reports and projects as requested by management or other departments that are more complex in nature.
  • Perform peer review/tie-out of financial reports prepared by other team members.
  • Assist in the maintenance of general ledger accounts and structure within the general ledger software.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors in the preparation of fiscal-year end financial reports.
  • Analyze trends, researching and documenting explanations for changes/variances.
  • Research accounting and reporting guidance; determine appropriate accounting for transactions.
  • Prepare sample selection from general ledger software for journal entry review.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of GAAP.
  • Develop working knowledge/understanding of how a financial institution works.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 1 - 2 years financial reporting or financial statement audit experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to type 25 WPM and operate 10 key by touch
  • Ability to complete multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports
  • Capable of working on assigned work with minimal assistance

Preferred:

  • 2 - 4 years public accounting experience; financial institution audit experience a plus
  • CPA license
