Job Summary

Big Sandy Community & Technical College is seeking a Financial Specialist III. This position will be located on the Prestonsburg Campus but will float to other campuses as necessary. This position assist with student payment plans, third party billing, student accounts/receivables and refunds, assist with purchasing, and assist with collection efforts, assist with inventory.

Job Duties:

  • Primary Cashier for the Prestonsburg campus and backup cashier for all other campuses as needed.
  • Collect all tuition and fees, process payments received from students, third party, scholarships, etc.
  • Prepare daily cash transmittals.
  • Collect and receive funds from various inter-campus departments.
  • Assist with Bank Mobile issues.
  • Student Accounts- Assist with student payment plans, third party billing, student accounts/receivables and refunds, troubleshooting student accounts, calling students, etc. Monitor scholarships to ensure students have received scholarships as indicated on the list provided by the Admissions Office.
  • Collections- Assist with collection calls, emails, letters, reports, and turning student accounts over to collection agencies.
  • Inventory monitoring – Preform inventory checks on all campuses as needed, assist with collection of off-site use of equipment forms, etc.
    Possible purchasing assistance during peak times, and other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate Degree and 1-2 years related experience. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 2-4 years related experience.

Additional Skills Requested:

Preferred competencies in MicroSoft Office (Excel and Word)
