About the role:

The Group Director of Insights will act as a strategic business thought leader and partner to Chanel’s three divisions and corporate functions by helping answer key business questions through a consumer lens. They will help the organization understand consumer behavior, brand health, market dynamics, and trends through the execution of primary and secondary research and ongoing data analysis.

What impact you can create at CHANEL:

  • Partner with Fragrance & Beauty, Fashion, Watch Fine Jewelry, and Corporate divisions to understand key business decisions and challenges, and propose how they can be answered through consumer and external perspectives
  • Design, execute, analyze and report on multiple annual proprietary studies, including collaboration with internal division partners and management of external vendor relationships
  • Contribute to annual strategic review, analyzing relevant economic, political, cultural and marketplace trends
  • Manage multiple service measurement programs across all owned and wholesale touch points, ensuring internal stakeholder engagement, and vendor management
  • Represent Insights team by sharing work internally to ensure its visibility and working with division partners on actions and outcomes

You are energized by:

  • Collaborating with divisions on task forces and test-and-learns to inform KPI development and measure success from a client perspective
  • Managing local development and implementation of Global brand equity studies, including coordination with Global Insights team and local divisions
  • Coordinating with Global Insights team on additional locally relevant Global work and studies
  • Leading one to two team members, coaching and mentoring on all relevant insights topics
  • Contributing to building the Insights practice by innovating on methodologies and optimizing and expanding our vendor partnerships

What you will bring to the team:

  • 8+ years of experience with consumer insights across range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, ideally with luxury and/or global brands
  • Strong analytical skills including statistical analysis and expert level mastery of Excel
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including poise and manner to represent Chanel with internal and external audiences
  • Significant experience using data to storytell and crafting decks that report results in a compelling way
  • Strategic thinker who is highly collaborative and flexible/adaptable to different environments and ways of working
  • Curious and comfortable working with ambiguity

Position Logistics:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience
  • BA required; MBA preferred
  • Partially Remote: Role requires a minimum of three days in-person office presence at the NYC Office.

Compensation:

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is $133,900 through $175,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay [may/will] be offered for this position. Other components [may/will] include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks.
