Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour

*If you are a PSCC Student and eligible for the Student Employment Program, you will be paid on experience and the rates are $14.00 (no experience), $15.00 (6 months experience) and $16.00 (9 months experience)*.

Work Hours:  29 hours per week

Position Summary: .  The overall purpose of this job is to be assist the Skills and Simulation Lab Coordinator and the Skills and Simulation Technical Coordinator in the implementation of programs in the Health Science Department.  The assistant will collaborate frequently with the Coordinators regarding laboratory schedule planning, ordering, and will participate in receiving and stocking lab supplies and equipment as directed by the Skills Lab Coordinator and Dean/Director of Nursing. The assistant will assist with cleaning and disinfecting equipment at all campuses.  The assistant will also participate/assist in simulations as directed by the Coordinators.

Duties and Responsibilities:

50% Provide recommendations for equipment and supplies as well as receive and stock all skills and simulation labs. Prepping for labs and simulations as well as repackaging of supplies for all three campuses.

20%  Follow policies, procedures and practice standards consistent with the center's educational objectives.  Collaborate with the Lab Faculty Coordinator, Lab Skills Coordinator, Lab Technical Coordinator and Dean/Director of Nursing to develop and report on the budget for the health science skills and simulation laboratories.

15% Maintain security and integrity of facilities, equipment, and supplies while maximizing their availability for educational exercises. Assist with inventory of supplies and equipment for Health Science programs.

10% Participate in training on Laboratory Safety

5% Participate in training needed to keep software for simulators operational.

Required Qualifications:

  1. High School or GED is required.
  2. Associate’s degree in a medical or IT field, or an LPN, or Medical Assistant Certification is strongly preferred.
  3. Experience with equipment, and inventory control preferred.
  4. Technology experience with programming software preferred.

6 months of job-related experience is required to perform the job at a competent level. Those skills should include:

  1. Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting processes
  2. Experience in stocking supplies
  3. Experience in programming or maintaining software
  4. Troubleshooting skills.
