Job Summary
Bluegrass Community and Technical College is hiring a full-time instructor with a broad background in Diesel Technology, Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks. The instructor will teach various formats within the Diesel Technology Program which includes Hybrid (online) lectures, competency based, and hands on labs. Classes will be administered in accordance with ASE standards. This position will primarily work on the Lawrenceburg Campus.
Job Duties:
- Provide instruction in the areas of Diesel Technology in the Medium/Heavy Duty Truck area.
- Collaborate with business and industry to maintain an awareness of current technologies, trends, and issues.
- Provide academic advising and career-related counseling for students.
- Engage in recruitment and retention activities through programming at secondary schools, community partners, and professional organizations.
- Participate in faculty professional development activities to include employer sponsored training.
- Establish and maintain ASE accreditation through completion of required reports and updates.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Diesel Technology AND have a minimum of two-year’s work experience in the field AND maintain appropriate ASE or industry certification for the courses being taught.
OR
- Have a minimum of five years’ work experience in the field AND maintain appropriate ASE certification for courses being taught
Preferred Qualifications:
- Instructional experience
- ASE Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician certification
