ROLE SUMMARY:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented College Intern Financial Analyst to join our Technology finance team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial analysis within a dynamic business environment. The successful candidate will work closely with senior financial analysts and managers to support various financial activities and gain exposure to real-world financial operations. They will interact with many of the groups comprising our IT and accounting teams, including architecture, data, infrastructure, applications, PMO and corporate accounting and financial planning. This is a great opportunity to learn about many parts of the technology and financial organizations. The intern will learn some of the basic accounting, financial analysis and budgeting concepts as well as technology accounting and apply them in meaningful projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This opportunity provides exposure to the day-to-day functions of an entry level financial analyst position, with a unique insight into accounting and financial analysis for a technology organization. This will include assisting in the development of automation for financial reporting and budgeting using tools such as Alteryx, Tableau and excel macros. Also financial data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support decision-making processes. The intern will be accountable for creating timely and accurate financial analyses and reports using tools such as PowerPoint and Excel and other relevant software, and insuring the continual delivery of the highest quality services to National Life Group’s internal customers while maintaining top level confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications
- Working towards a degree in Accounting or Finance
- Prefer rising Senior majoring in Accounting or Finance
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated and self-directed
- Able to work independently within established timeframes
- Ability to think strategically and respond tactically in a dynamic environment
- Well organized and able to handle multiple priorities at one time
Preferred Qualifications
- Some experience in or interest in data analytics and reporting tools (such as Alteryx or Tableau) would be helpful
