Overview

The Lead Technical Advisor will play a pivotal role in the successful implementation of a modernization effort for a key US Army client. This position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of cloud technologies, Army standards, and the ability to coordinate development efforts to ensure alignment with Army requirements and capabilities. The Lead Technical Advisor will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of best-of-breed technologies while mitigating risks and overseeing the work of a deeply technical team while serving as a top Technical SME to our US Army Client. The Advisor will be required to connect deep technical implementations with high-level, non-technical leadership to connect solutions to mission requirements while moving fast, building and deploying while communicating, driving consensus, team building and owning an end-to-end solution process with our client.

NOTE: This position requires frequent onsite trips by the successful candidate. Therefore, the successful candidate will need to be local to the Fort Belvoir area. However, most work will be done remotely working from home. 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical lead coordinating development efforts to ensure alignment with Army requirements and capabilities 
  • Combine broad technical expertise with non-technical relationship and consensus building skills to help understand and align clients to technical solutions 
  • Ensure the implementation of best-of-breed technologies while mitigating risks and overseeing the work of a diverse modern technology team 
  • Collaborate with Army stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of the existing and upcoming technical solutions into the Army's existing IT infrastructure 
  • Assist with developing and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and user manuals 
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Army personnel and contractors  
  • Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies and Army/DoD standards 
  • Ensure compliance with Army cybersecurity standards and best practices 
  • Collaborate to optimize cost-efficiency and prevent cost overruns 
  • Provide regular status reports to senior Army leaders and LMI management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Development or related technical fields. A Master's degree is highly desirable 
  • At least 10 years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, cloud deployments, including experience with architecture, security, cyber and data infrastructure 
  • Experience interfacing between deeply technical teams, hands on keyboard, stakeholder management and creating project roadmaps from scratch 
  • Experience in Army standards and requirements for digital, cloud and cyber 
  • Experience working with Army stakeholders and contractors 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders 
  • Experience with US Army networking systems, communications, data architectures, and current Army initiatives 
  • Experience in AWS, Azure and on-premises deployments 
  • Active Secret clearance required 
  • No specific certifications are required; however, various certifications may be relevant though the list is not inclusive
