The Manager of Talent and Succession is responsible for leading the organization’s talent review and succession planning processes. This role oversees the strategy, communication, and execution of these processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The role will focus on developing and maintaining a robust succession pipeline, driving strategic talent moves, and supporting leadership with tailored development plans. Additionally, this position will be responsible for analyzing talent data and delivering executive-ready presentations to guide decision-making at the highest levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Review Process

  • Lead the organization-wide talent review process, including strategy development, communication, execution, and data analysis.

  • Ensure alignment of talent review strategies with organizational objectives and workforce planning needs.

  • Partner with HR Business Partners and senior leadership to facilitate discussions on talent strengths, gaps, and mobility.

  • Create and present executive-level summaries and recommendations based on talent review data.

Succession Planning

  • Design and implement the succession planning strategy for key leadership roles.

  • Work with senior leadership to create tailored development plans for high-potential employees.

  • Collaborate with leaders across departments to support strategic talent moves and role transitions.

Talent Development & Mobility

  • Partner with Learning & Development teams to align development programs with talent review and succession planning outcomes.

  • Oversee the creation of individual development plans for identified talent.

  • Facilitate talent mobility across the organization to meet strategic objectives and fill key gaps.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze talent data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in succession planning and talent development.

  • Prepare data-driven reports and executive-ready presentations for the leadership team and board.

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of talent data through collaboration with HRIS and other relevant systems.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a key liaison between Talent Management, HR, and senior leadership to ensure alignment on talent strategies.

  • Lead communication efforts related to talent and succession processes, ensuring transparency and clarity across the organization.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on succession and talent development strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • 5-7 years of experience in Talent Management, Succession Planning, or related field, with a proven track record of managing company-wide talent and succession programs.

  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, and data analysis skills.

  • Ability to present complex information to senior leaders and executives in a clear and actionable manner.

  • Experience with HR systems and talent management software.

  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
