Job Summary

Part Time Peer Math Tutor – Applicant MUST BE A CURRENT SKYCTC STUDENT.

Peer Tutors help students learn by helping them better understand course content and develop academic and study skills.

Job Duties:

• What do Peer Math Tutors do? Peer Math Tutors are current students who have successfully completed MAT 61 and MAT 150. They tutor students currently enrolled in MAT 61 (with MAT 150 a possibility) by helping them understand course materials, develop effective study skills, and improve their understanding of mathematics.
• How do Peer Math Tutors help students learn? Peer Tutors collaborate with students to help them strengthen their knowledge and skills. Tutors work with the student, rather than doing the work for the student. In turn, the Peer tutor will gain a deeper understanding of the subject and improve on various soft skills.
