Salary Range: $640.00 per credit hour (Credit hours vary between classes but usually, lecture courses are 3 credits and lab courses are 2 credits.)

Job Summary

The Natural Science Department of Jefferson Community and Technical College has openings for part time Physics Adjunct Instructors to teach all levels of Physics. Common courses in which we are in regular need:
• PHY 151: Introduction to Physics I (Lecture)
• PHY 161: Introduction to Physics Lab I (Lab)
• PHY 171: Applied Physics (Lecture & Lab)

Job Duties:

The primary responsibilities of these positions are:
• Lesson plan and teach courses.
• Maintain some office hours for mentoring and coaching students.
• Attend faculty success and retention activities.
• Utilization of a learning management system such as Blackboard for communication and feedback.

If you can teach at a remote campus, please make note of this on your application and/or cover letter (remote campuses include Carrollton County, Shelby County, Bullitt County and Southwest Campus). The ability to teach at these campuses may increase your chance of being hired.

Minimum Qualifications:

A master’s degree with at least eighteen graduate hours in the discipline you will be teaching.

Special Note: To teach Physics at a Kentucky community college, the applicant must have a master’s degree or higher or have taken at least 6 credit hours of graduate level Physics courses.
