Howmet Aerospace Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Product Integrity Senior Specialist to further develop the company’s product integrity program, using product safety and quality standards and principles in partnership with the business. This role will report to the Senior Director, Product Integrity and will be based at one of the large Howmet plants in the Midwest or East Coast of the United States.

The selected individual will be accountable for staying current on all applicable quality and product safety, regulatory, industry, agency, government, and customer standards and implementing processes and policies to support compliance with these standards through the product life cycle.  They will conduct comprehensive audits to support continuous improvement.  They will develop strategic initiatives to further implement the product integrity program within the company.

Major Activities/Key Challenges:
  • Work with Business Segment Quality leaders to ensure that all businesses have robust and documented product quality and safety processes in place
  • Provide recommendations to location and executive management on improving the control environment and increasing operational efficiencies
  • Direct the efforts of formal audits to ensure the product quality and safety processes are being applied
  • Analyze customer complaints and conduct failure investigations to determine root-cause and develop risk mitigation action plans
  • Validate new product development is conducted to guidelines ensuring product safety assurance and control plans are implemented prior to beginning production
  • Stay abreast of current quality and regulatory trends and methodologies in the applicable industry and utilize this information for developing proactive strategies and readiness
  • Travel to domestic and international company locations is required, but can be self-paced and may be as much as 50% in a normal year
  • Transfer knowledge throughout the company through best practice sharing
  • Evaluate and test the internal controls of business processes for the company’s operating locations and key processes; communicate and train employees on these processes to ensure compliance
  • Utilizing data analysis tools during pre-audit planning and audit execution

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience successfully conducting audits; capable of coordinating processes across departments and partnering with audiences at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to present information clearly and concisely
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; comfortable working through potentially complex policy, process, and people-related organizational dynamics 
  • A team player, can collaborate and consult effectively in global teams across time-zones and different cultures Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and execute audits
  • Aptitude to plan and prioritize own work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
  • Exposure to various business functions such as: quality assurance, product validation, nonconforming material control, procurement, and product safety assurance processes


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years product safety, quality assurance, program management, engineering, and/or operations leadership in a manufacturing setting 
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related technical field
  • Experience in the aerospace and/or defense manufacturing industry 
  • Professional Certification (CQA, CRE, CSSBB, etc.)
  • Experience in auditing ISO9000, AS9100 and or IATF16949
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft applications (Word, Excel)

Salary Range: $105k - $125k/year approximation (actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skillset, and/org location).
