A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Sr. Scientist,

A typical day for the R&D Sr. Scientist includes virtual and in-person collaborative meetings with internal and external stakeholders, team collaboration with R&D stakeholders on analysis and evidence development deliverables, and significant time at the computer for writing, reviewing and data presentation preparation. The Sr. Scientist will work closely with bioinformatics to develop and execute data analysis plans related to Castle's ongoing clinical trials for dermatologic cancers and will present associated data to internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be proficient in basic statistical analysis skills. The Sr. Scientist will prepare high quality data tables and figures using vector graphic platforms for inclusion in abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts. They will engage with the Medical Writers to ensure that the data are accurately represented, and that appropriate messaging is included in all deliverables in accordance with company policies. The ideal candidate will have first-hand experience in all phases of the publication of research manuscripts. The Sr. Scientist will work internally with Marketing and Medical Affairs to distill complex data into simple messaging for inclusion in physician or patient facing materials, advisory boards, etc., and externally will develop working relationships with key opinion leaders and stay abreast of new developments related to or affecting Castle's products and competition. A key component of the position is to coordinate external manuscript authors for efficient review of deliverables.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Requirements
    • A PhD in the life sciences is required with an additional 3-4 years of post-doctoral or industry equivalent experience
    • Excellent vector graphic visualization skills, including proficiency using Illustrator/Inkscape for formatting and layout design. Proven writing skills in the development of scientific deliverables is required. First-hand experience in the publication process is required.
    • Extensive experience with clinical data analysis and statistics
    • Demonstrable experience independently writing scientific abstracts and creating posters and short oral presentations is required
    • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and timelines while working in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and oral communication skills. Proficiency in the English language (both written and oral) is required.
    • Strong computer literacy (Inkscape, Adobe Illustrator, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, collaborative writing in SharePoint and citation manager experience) is required.

  • Preferred Requirements
    • A clinical/scientific understanding of oncology is desirable

  • Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Four days in office and one flex day to work remotely.
