Job Synopsis

MCC’s Serving and Learning Together (SALT) program is a year-long, cross-cultural experience that will give you the chance to grow in ways you never imagined.

Your time in SALT is not just a year abroad. It’s a chance to go deep into a new culture and relate to the world in a new way. It’s a chance to make mistakes, get messy and learn through trying. You’ll grow. You’ll experience the world. You’ll find purpose. You will Serve and Learn Together.

There is no program fee to participate in SALT and no set amount to fundraise for MCC! MCC covers all assignment-related costs.

Ready to see whether SALT is a good fit for you? Start by applying to the program! The call for applications is open, but only those received before February 15 are guaranteed to be considered for a placement in the same year. Once your application process is complete and you have been deemed eligible as a SALT program candidate, we will work with you to secure a specific assignment that matches your skills, interests and the needs of our local partner organizations.

The placement process begins in January and finishes in late May. However, the earlier your application process is completed, the greater your chances of being offered one of your top placement preferences. Please note that while we do our best to secure an assignment for each eligible SALT candidate, not all applicants will be placed. You are officially accepted into the SALT program only after accepting an offer to a specific assignment.
