Job Description:

Position Summary:
The Admissions Department at The Chicago School is responsible for recruiting students for academic programs across the university’s campus locations and online. The Admissions Department works closely with TCS Education System, who provides marketing, systems support, and training for The Chicago School admissions operations.


The Senior Director of Admissions is a senior leadership/management position at the Chicago School. The Senior Director of Admissions has team leadership responsibilities within their group, and will mentor, train, and supervise Admissions Representatives and managers. The Senior Director is responsible for leading their team(s) to success in recruiting certificate and degree-seeking students for their assigned group of programs. The successful candidate will be an articulate, organized, results driven, dynamic, enthusiastic, experienced leader and team leader and player. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a talented and committed professional whose skills and attitude complement a dynamic, collegial team.


Senior Directors of Admissions who are assigned to a specific campus as their primary location will have responsibilities on campus and their presence will be required at that campus location.


The ability to work evenings and weekends is required, as is domestic travel.

Principal Duties:

  • Team Leadership
    • Meet new student enrollment goals for the team(s).
    • Implement the university’s enrollment strategies and manage the Office of Admissions activities to meet enrollment objectives.
    • Manage, coordinate, conduct and analyze all weekly, monthly and annual admission reports (including monthly and annual reports from admission events and recruitment efforts).
    • With national leadership, develop annual admission strategic plan, recruitment calendar, and goals.
    • Independently produce accurate applicant and inquiry reports, including forecasts.
    • Oversee file review process with Admissions Representatives and leadership.
    • Positively and professionally represent the university through telephone-based, virtual, and in-person meetings and events.
    • Facilitate meetings and serve as admissions point of contact for the team(s).
    • Develop admissions related messaging and content for training and student facing purposes.
    • Establish and maintain professional relationships with academic department chairs and other institution directors and leaders that aid admission in recruitment efforts such as financial services, student services, community partnerships, and alumni relations.
    • With national leadership, create and manage admission budget.
  • Personnel Management
    • Hire, mentor, manage, train, and assess Admissions Representatives and admissions managers for assigned team(s).
    • Train Representatives on product knowledge, technology, best practices in the admissions process, and other areas to improve new student recruitment.
    • Responsible for Representative and manager development in terms of overall contribution to the team and readiness for advancement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in admissions with progressive growth in leadership roles, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in admissions leadership/management.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Computer skills including experience using customer relationship management systems and the ability to learn new systems quickly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Compensation & Benefits

This opportunity is budgeted at $$110,000-$120,000 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
