Job Summary

The Behavioral and Social Sciences Division has openings to teach in-person and hybrid sections of Sociology at Jefferson Community and Technical College on the Downtown and Southwest campuses.

Job Duties:

The primary responsibilities of these positions are to teach courses (SOC101; Introduction to Sociology: 3 Credit hours), maintain office hours, participate in student success activities, and utilize a learning management system such as Blackboard. Classes may meet once or twice a week depending on the class mode with meeting times being approximately 90 minutes ranging from 9am to 8pm.

Please note that this is an adjunct hiring pool. We will contact applicants available for in-person instruction based on enrollment needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have 18 graduate hours in Sociology (SOC) and a Master's degree or a Master's degree in Sociology.  

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates who exhibit digital literacy and have experience with a Learning Management System (LMS), such as Blackboard, will be given preference. Ideal candidates will have a good attendance record, demonstrated experience in teaching and student engagement, and the ability to work effectively in an academic environment making frequent contact with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
