Howmet Engine Systems is currently seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join our team in La Porte, IN. Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager directs, and coordinates activities concerned with the production of company products through direct interface with customers/vendors and in-house personnel as needed. This involves managing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the input of parts and raw materials to satisfy the customers' delivery requirements. Coordinates plant production activities with procurement and manufacturing departments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities, not limited to:
- Communicates with regular and perspective vendors concerning requirements and answers any other questions. Approximately 25% of available time is spent maintaining internal/external vendor and relevant customer contacts.
- Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead-time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders. Will also revise and update the master schedule as needed in light of latest information
- Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine input requirements including raw materials, outplant support and wax input schedule.

- Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
- Prepares production reports and monthly sales forecast.
- Prepares lists of required materials.

- Analyze physical inventory quarterly and works across function to increase inventory turnover
  • ODP completion and accuracy responsibility.
  • Internal ODP reporting (monthly).
  • Lead LRP process and SP sheet completion in consultation with Customer Sales Manager.
  • Lead transition to Oracle Demand and Supply Cloud Transition Plan and Execution.
  • Balance supply and demand across functions.

- Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and occasional overtime.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to function effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated requisite skills and abilities in basic computer operation. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Working knowledge of synchronous manufacturing required.
- Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Basic Qualifications:
- 5 years minimum experience in plant operational environment and/or an equivalent large segment of a business.
- Excellent communication skills (presentations, verbal and written).
- Highly knowledgeable with production planning concepts such as MRP, MRP II, ATP, CTP etc.
- Thorough understanding of Budget responsibility.
- Exceptional analytical and conceptional thinking skills.
- High level of competency in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment. eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years-experience in aerospace and/or automotive manufacturing.
- Investment Casting manufacturing experience.
- APICS CPIM/CSCP certification.
- Knowledge of program languages such as Visual Basic and Python.
- Master's degree from accredited institution
- Experience in an organized (Union) environment.
