NEUTRON

TEAMCENTER / NX ADMINSTRATOR
Based out of Rocket Lab's headquarters in Long Beach, CA the Teamcenter / NX Administrator is responsible for driving constant improvement in design processes for the Neutron program. You will work within the Neutron development team in the US and support the design organizations across both the US and New Zealand offices.
While your primary function is to drive and improve design tools through activities such as implementing standardized parts, BOM & drawing templates, alternate parts solutions, developing workflows and automations as well as user support, you will also assist directly with surge design support for critical Neutron milestones.
WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:
- Drive as well as contribute to improvements in PLM processes and the resulting changes in NX and supported CAD systems.
- Work with users to develop/update tool customizations to improve efficiency.
- Drive the development and maintenance of common parts and features.
- Create design tools and automations to streamline the process from new idea to released rocket designs hitting the shop floor
- Create and manage templates and best practices to maintain consistency and high quality across all Neutron design teams
- Embed with the Neutron design teams to understand pain points and provide solutions to CAD, drawing, design automation and PLM needs
- Provide surge design support for the Neutron program
- Provide a robust CAD operating environment through promptly responding to user requests for support.
- Administer and support user access, permissions, and licensing to provide secure access to NX and supported CAD systems.
- Support/Deliver training to new and existing staff.
- Create and maintain documentation for user support processes.
- Develop and deploy proprietary and 3rd party NX and Teamcenter Tools.
- Develop and deploy custom solutions using NX Open.
YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or other technical degree.
- 2+ years of experience with Siemens NX & Teamcenter
- Strong knowledge of CAD modeling and drawing creation
- 2+ years of xperience with programming using Python, C++ or similar
- Experience managing version-controlled projects (git, mercurial, or similar)
- Experience putting together UI applications
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with CAM programming for traditional machining processes
- Experience with design for carbon composite structures
- Experience with design and drafting best practices.
- Experience creating automations with NX Open
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
- Must be physically able to commute to buildings
- Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
