Position summary: Test Proctors will facilitate in-person exams for students enrolled in Mathematics courses. Test Proctors will work with the general student population in our college math center.

Locations: Main Chattanooga State campus

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

•        Enforce proper testing procedures for all students during exams

•        Effectively monitor several students at once

•        Assist with minor technical issues

•        Maintain a welcoming testing environment that encourages success of students from all backgrounds

Holistic Student Support

Familiarity with holistic support for students outside the classroom. These supports include Admissions and Records, Enrollment Service Center, High School Programs, Recruiting and Orientation, Career Services, Student Support Center, Tutoring Services, Student Conduct, Student Life, Multicultural and International Services, Adult Student Services, and the Center for Access and Disability Services.

Ensure that services and activities promote accessibility and reflect equity-minded practices.

Organizational Culture and Inclusive Practices

Embraces and promotes the College's goals related to organizational culture and belongingness.

Support the Math and Science Division's efforts to utilize best practices in providing equity-minded services and support for students, faculty, and staff.

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to work on campus with college students of diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification
  • Experience working with adult learners

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

•        Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure

•        Ability to calmly handle difficult situations

•        Proficiency in basic internet use; ability to learn internet platforms (such as course management and statistical tools) quickly with training

•        Positive interpersonal skills; a commitment to building constructive relationships with students, faculty, staff and administrators

Work Hours

  • Monday-Saturday during academic terms
  • Between 10-27 hours per week, depending on contract
