Supervision Exercised: Functional supervision may be exercised over Testing Center Assistants, proctors, and student workers
 
JOB SUMMARY
Provide professional and technical support for the Testing Center including the administration and security of all forms of college-level, computer-based and paper/pencil-based examinations provided to current students and community constituents. Plan, coordinate, implement, and maintain services, programs, systems, and equipment for current testing services and new initiatives.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administer and proctor all forms of college-level examinations including but not limited to placement testing, high-stakes/certification examinations, State and Federal course examinations and distance learning examinations for other colleges/universities.
  • Coordinate and provide testing services for college community and community constituents (i.e. district high schools, external agencies). 
  • Adhere to institutional, program-specific, government and national (National College Testing Association) standards, guidelines and protocol related to test administration.
  • Evaluate and resolve technical issues and provide testing support for all users.
  • Complete annual training of approved curriculum and annual exams as required by test vendors.
  • Document and comply with all formal communications as required by test vendors.
  • Address discrepancies immediately with corrective actions as mandated by test vendors and government organizations.  
  • Ensure students eligibility and identity by checking for approved identification including US government, alien residency and other foreign government entity identification.
  • Provide accommodations for students with disabilities including advising students and instructors regarding access to testing services, assisting with adaptive/assistive equipment and technology, reading and transcribing college-level examinations, and coordinating with Disability Support Services.
  • Coordinate with Disability Support Services on viability of emerging assistive technology opportunities and training.
  • Work successfully as part of a team in a high demand, multi-tasking, detail-oriented environment.
  • Maintain testing systems, facilities and equipment including updates and upgrades in conjunction with internal and external vendors and technical support staff.
  • Secure, maintain, and keep confidential student test records as required by the Federal Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Prepare score reports, interpret data, upload scores into student data system and update student test records.
  • Maintain student records, files, and correspondence associated with vendor and other school examinations.
  • Provide scheduling and check-in assistance to staff including interpretation of student test scores and records. 
  • Maintain the security of all examinations housed and delivered in the Testing Center including operation of digital security system(s); report and document any breech of the college’s Academic Honesty Standard.
  • Assist faculty on use of testing services including test delivery and management of course exams.
  • Assist faculty in decision-making regarding current and new prior learning assessments
  • Research and develop faculty review materials for current and emerging testing programs.
  • Collaborate with Testing Manager on special programs, presentations and research projects (i.e. validity studies, pilots, course assessment, data requested by faculty)
  • Assist Institutional Research in generating and using testing data for institutional purposes
  • Collect and evaluate data relevant to current testing programs
  • Assist with maintaining Testing Center web content
  • Attend conferences, meetings and serve on appropriate committees.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and organizational skills including the ability to initiate and complete tasks with proficiency and independence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide supervision to student workers. Provide supervision to other staff when Testing Center Manager is not available.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills while providing and upholding professional, ethical, and compassionate conduct.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) is required.
High level of computer literacy, including ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One or more years’ experience in educational/professional testing is desired.
Experience in post-secondary education desirable.
Experience working with students with disabilities desirable.
Supervisory and/or leadership experience desired.

Work Environment 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting. May be required to travel to off-site testing locations to accommodate the needs of students.
