Underwriting Research & Development (Marketing) Intern - Summer 2025

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Underwriting Research and Development Marketing Intern will gain experience in various initiatives to increase the agent's technical knowledge about National Life Group’s underwriting guidelines. This information will enable the agent to sell policies that will allow the agent to be successful, which will help the agent attract new customers and retain existing customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The intern will work directly with crucial underwriting and distribution stakeholders to understand where there are gaps in agent training and knowledge of the underwriting process at National Life Group. The Intern will recommend how to deliver underwriting guidelines clearly, succinctly, and transparently. The incumbent will review today's tools and help identify where we can streamline or enhance current marketing needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in marketing, communications, business, financial services industry, or working towards a degree in a related field
  • Experience in designing computer-based training modules
  • Experience in designing training guides for the adult learner
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Confluence software
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to think from a consumer perspective
  • Basic understanding of what life insurance is
  • Possess a customer service attitude and demonstrate effective communication at all levels of the organization

The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
