Warehouse Nightshift Manager
Overview
The Nightshift Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing and directing all nightshift warehouse operations. The primary goal, under the direction of the Warehouse and Logistics Manager, is to properly organize staff members and achieve a reasonable workflow throughout the shift. The position will also include directing, managing disciplinary action, training and developing warehouse team members.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all nightshift warehouse operations in order to meet customer order picking, loading and shipping while delivering company accuracy and deliverable goals.
- Oversee scheduled outbound picking, loading and routing/delivery goals.
- Responsible to ensure direct reports are achieving and maintaining key performance indicators.
- Work closely with inside/outside sales team and accounts receivable department regarding outbound freight and invoicing to our customers.
- Maintain close business relations with other functional team members throughout the organization to ensure customer satisfaction internally and externally.
- Be an active member of the safety committee.
- Work closely with HR and Health and Safety to ensure policies and procedures are enforced.
- Ensure work environment is safe.
- Maintain all personnel files and partner with Human Resources to manage staffing levels, discipline, hiring, performance management, etc. in accordance with the employee handbook and collective bargaining agreement.
- Pick and Ship Inventory while tracking product movement from bins.
- Act as primary trainer for new/replacement warehouse staff positions.
- Other Duties as Assigned by Management.
Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities
- Five to seven years of previous supervisory experience in a warehouse/distribution center
- Lean Manufacturing experience (a plus)
- Six Sigma experience (a plus)
- Excellent coaching and communication skills
- Broad knowledge of picking, loading, shipping, and logistics
- Experience demonstrating process improvement plans
- Strategic planning skills
- Able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary service to all departments
