Reading is the gateway to all learning, yet America is facing a crisis - 65% of all students in the US cannot read and comprehend at a proficient level.

ReadWorks is on a mission to end this crisis. Engaging over one million teachers and over 13.1 million students across the country, ReadWorks, one of the leading edtech nonprofits in the United States, provides resources and tools based in the science of reading to help ensure EVERY child becomes a successful and joyful reader–for FREE. Through our easily accessible website, ReadWorks provides compelling reading content, curricular supports, guidance, and digital tools, while simultaneously participating in research that informs the larger education community.

After 10 years of developing our web platform and building our user community, we are poised to support the students who need us the most while continuing to demonstrate how effective using ReadWorks can be to improve student outcomes and enhance their joy of reading. Two key areas of focus moving forward are: (1) Deepening Impact by actively promoting teacher practices that help students achieve improved outcomes for their students, and (2) Supporting Educational Equity by partnering with under-resourced communities to understand how we can best support their needs and how to scale this support broadly.
