About the Internal Audit Group at American Express
Our Internal Audit Group is a worldwide function with 300+ team members and offices across nine countries within American Express. Our mission is to protect and enhance organizational value by providing independent, objective, risk-based assurance, advisory services and to influence the way the company manages risk.
We are committed to growing our audit staff significantly as we continue to expand and enhance the Internal Audit Group. Our assurance and risk professionals have diverse backgrounds including internal controls, consumer compliance, technology, operational risk, financial accounting, data analytics, and banking operations. Our audit teams align to key risk areas and business units to ensure IAG can provide comprehensive and risk-based audit coverage. In addition, IAG has a Professional Practices group responsible for managing audit operations, quality, and standards; regulatory relations; reporting; training and professional development; and key internal capabilities and technologies.
About the Role:
We are seeking an analyst who is passionate about driving change and wants to help deliver a successful learning and development program to the Internal Audit Group. In this role, you will you will play a key part in the management of the Internal Audit Group’s strategic colleagues initiatives around professional development and training program as well as the audit group’s rotational programs and staffing development workstreams.
About the Team:
The Internal Audit Group’s Learning and development team consists of a Director, one senior manager, one manager and one analyst. The mangers and analyst report to the Director, and the Director reports to the Vice President of Professional Practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support IAG’s training and professional development program, including:
- distribution, analysis and evaluation of annual needs analysis,
- planning/coordinating/scheduling and hosting training sessions virtually via the enterprise’s technology platform
- management and oversight of training invites and working with presenters to schedule training
- Facilitate and coordinate the tracking and reporting of training credits and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit, etc., including department wide metrics and benchmarking.
- Maintain updated curriculum database, learning plan and training records on the LMS
- Monitor training completions and or non-compliance with training requirements and initiate follow up
- Manage and facilitate new hire onboarding including monitoring curriculum completions and follow ups
- Perform special projects in support of various Professional Practices and departmental initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- College Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of technology and data related systems/tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of internal audit experience
- Learning & development experience
- Very strong organizational and project management and organizational skills
- Highly proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools
Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
