PositionSummary:
TheStudentServicesCoordinator(SB) playsakey roleinservingandsupportingCOL’sstudentpopulation. The successfulcandidate isthe“face”ofCOLin SantaBarbara, the firstpersonstudents,faculty,andguests seewhenthey visitcampus.Sheor he canmake apersonalconnectionwiththecommunity andbe someonethey go toforsupport.
Thispositionwillreporttothe Assistant Dean of the Onsite JD Program (SB + VTA)andwillbeheavily involvedinplanning and executing studentactivities,assistingstudentswithavarietyofneeds,communicatingwithstudentsaboutschoolpoliciesandactivities.,workingwithstudentswithdisabilityaccommodations,andmaintainingandproducingstudentrecords.ThepositionwillalsorequirearegularpresenceattheCOLSantaBarbaracampusduringposted administration and businesshours.
StudentServicesandGeneralAdministration
- Perform front-deskandadministrativeduties attheSantaBarbaraCampus,includinggreetingstudents,faculty,andguests,andansweringthegeneralphoneline
- Openandclosethecampus
- Prepareclassroomsforclass,rearrangingwhenneededbasedonthenumberofstudents,andmakingsuretheinstructorshaveallthatthey needfor class
- AssistwithadministrationofSantaBarbara studentexaminations
- Proctorexams;hireandsupervisestudentproctorsduringexamperiods
- WithRegistrar,facilitateADAcompliancematters attheSBCampus
- Monitorandrecordstudentattendancedaily; advisethosewithexcessabsencenotices
- SupportthesuccessofinternationalandVeteranstudents.
- Serveas a liaisonto,andmonitoractivitiesof,studentorganizationsbased inSB,suchasStudentBarAssociation,lawfraternities,etc.;perform relatedadministrativetasks,e.g.,elections
- Coordinatepostingof syllabi, booklists, pastexaminations,issuesheets, andmodelanswers, etc.online tothe StudentGateway
- RegularlymonitorStudentGatewaytoensureresources andannouncementmeet studentneeds
- Manage,hire,schedule,andcoordinatestudentworkersattheSantaBarbara Campus, for on the ground support
- Coordinateroomspaceandaccessto facilitiesforOnsite JD Students and Faculty
- Participateincreation,review,andrevisionofCOLdocuments,forms,andreports,includingProgramReviewReport
- Assist the master’s program with messaging to students regarding term starts, syllabi, booklist, grades.
- Track master’s students grade progress throughout the term. Communicate withthe Dean of the master’s program, faculty, and student if grades are below the passing threshold.
- Otherdutiesasassigned.
