Job Summary
Reporting to the Adult Education Program Director, the ESL Teacher is responsible for teaching English language and literacy to adult learners with limited English proficiency according to Tennessee Adult Education ESL content standards and assessment competencies while accommodating individual learner’s needs and goals. • Lead curriculum initiatives for the ESL teachers in compliance with state wide initiatives.
• Assist the director with state reporting requirements for ESL students.
• Work with ESL students for career pathways for integration into workforce training and/or degree pathways.

Reporting to the Adult Education Program Director, the Paraprofessional is responsible for providing a variety of clerical duties in support of the Adult Education program including main clerical support for the director. They also interact daily with and provide instructional, registration, and intake orientation-related services for potential and current students and faculty. The position will serve as main intake/contact for grant related registrations and assisting students with the appropriate referrals.
Job Duties
• Perform general office duties, including but not limited to filing, faxing, and disbursement of administrative and instructional materials • Setup and maintain paper and electronic filing systems
• Assist with departmental calendaring, access and maintenance of electronic activities.
• Provide front desk welcome to new students coming into Blazier/Wilson Hall.
• Assist with graduation
• Assist with student registration, assessment, orientation/counseling for AE students and/or other grant partners such as STRONG FAMILIES/STRONG ACC.
• Assists with scheduling, proctoring, and scoring State-required tests (CASAS, HiSET OPT)
• Assist with ordering materials and supplies
• Organize and maintain confidential program and student files as well as report documentation
• Maintain office equipment and supply inventories
• Prepare and assist with fiscal processes
• Maintain technical knowledge by engaging in opportunities to improve or increase skills
• Contribute to team efforts
• Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent • Experience with digital data entry • Customer service experience • Experience with general office equipment (fax, copier, scanner, multi-line phone system etc.) 
Preferred Qualifications
• Adult education experience • A.S. degree in office administration, business, or other related field • Experience with multiple types of scheduling (i.e., staff, events, and courses) 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Technology Skills: MS Office skills, Word, Excel, Outlook; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems • Strong oral and written communication skills • Organizational and analytical skills and ability to meet deadlines • Accept new tasks and responsibilities in a positive/professional manner

Title: Campus Library Assistant (Temporary Part-Time)

Pay Rate: $ 16.00 /Hr
Work Hours: 20 hours per week
Position Summary: To staff the service desk, provide customer service using a computer-based library system, and provide other library support services, including circulation of materials, shelf maintenance, and upkeep of copiers and printers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
80% Staff the service desk and check out and check in library materials and perform other processes using the circulation system. Answer directional and general, informational questions about library circulation processes and about the college. Add/update patron information in the library system. Participate in the performance of all activities related to intercampus loan. Handle questions related to overdue and lost materials. Maintain supplies of the various forms used at the circulation desk. Explain circulation policies to patrons and provide suggestions for improving circulation policies and procedures. Open/close the library.
20% Sort and shelve library materials and assist with shelf maintenance.

Required Qualifications:
A. High School diploma or equivalent. B. Experience in using computers and a high degree of comfort in using a computer system and web pages to provide customer service. C. Ability to work a flexible schedule.
(Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics:
A. Requires basic knowledge of library circulation activities, processes, and procedures. B. Ability to convey an attitude of service that encourages users to seek assistance. C. Ability to provide assistance at the appropriate level and in a non-judgmental manner. D. Ability to coordinate activities and communicate needs in a cordial manner to a variety of people including students, faculty, supervisors, and other college personnel. E. Ability to learn and explain services and policies to users. F. Ability to use equipment and software to complete circulation and maintenance tasks. G. Ability to lift books and boxes, push and pull loaded book trucks, and shelve/move materials (requires bending and stretching). H. Ability to interpret complicated instructions. I. Ability to perform detailed work accurately. J. Ability to maintain, clean, and provide routine service for copiers, faxes, printers, and other equipment. K. Ability to function independently in a complex and changing environment. L. Ability to type/keyboard.
