The Research Associate will be based at Harvard and be a part of the Research Associate program within Harvard Business School. 08-Oct-2024<h4>Project Manager, Translational Research Programs</h4>Harvard Medical School 67103BRPosition DescriptionThe Therapeutic Discovery Center is seeking a dynamic Project Manager for Translational Research Programs with scientific background, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for applying science toward the therapies of tomorrow.&nbsp; The Project Manager will report to the Senior Project Manager, Translational Research Programs, and will serve as a key member of the Therapeutic Discovery Center.Primary Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<ul><li>Lead operations of designated projects, including</li><li>Define deliverables and timelines at each project stage</li><li>Track progress against deliverables and timeline</li><li>Monitor expenses against project budget</li><li>Communicate effectively with scientific researchers</li><li>Design scopes of work in collaboration with senior project manager and execute contracts with&nbsp;contract research organizations (CROs), technical consultants, and other service providers as&nbsp;appropriate.</li><li>Draft scientific deliverables such as synthesis of chemical analogs</li><li>Monitor work completed by CROs, consultants, and other service providers</li><li>Coordinate communication between key stakeholders, including PIs and co-PIs, contracted vendors, other team members, and applicable University offices</li></ul>Basic Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in the life sciences or related field or equivalent experience required.</li><li>Minimum 5 years relevant work experience</li></ul>Additional Qualifications and Skills<ul><li>Master's degree in the life sciences or related field preferred.</li><li>5 years of relevant experience in positions involving project management, alliance management,&nbsp;scientific/technical evaluation, in an industrial and/or academic setting preferred.</li><li>Background knowledge in chemistry and biology</li><li>Strong competencies in project management, outsourcing, resource management and organization with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and resources, while maintaining a focus on quality.</li><li>Exceptional organizational skills.</li><li>Strong Emotional Intelligence (EQ).</li><li>Enjoys working in an open academic environment.</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Solid analytical capabilities and attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to produce and present clear, concise, and professionally written communications and presentations.</li></ul>Additional InformationThis is a term appointment, with an end date of September 30, 2027, with the possibility of renewal contingent on funding. As a member of the Drug Discovery Sciences Core project management team, the Project Manager will work with teams (successful applicants and small companies within Life Lab) to support execution of research plans through a variety of in-house and outsourced capabilities.
