Title: Access Services Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY Coordinates the College’s disabilities services program for students, including assessing student needs and identifying and organizing instructional and technology supports.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serves as the College’s liaison and informational representative for students with disabilities. Assesses students’ individual needs using evaluation reports, interviews and professional acumen and judgement and engages in an interactive process with students and relevant personnel to determine appropriate reasonable accommodations for students. Coordinates with the Testing Center to ensure students receive approved testing accommodations, according to ADA guidelines. Processes student accommodations and communicates with students and faculty using AIM (Accessible Information Management) system.
Prepares and conducts faculty/staff workshops regarding accommodations for students with disabilities. Networks with service providers to help identify appropriate supports for students. Remains current on relevant regulations and laws and other topics pertinent to the role, including recent innovations and availability of adaptive/assistive equipment and technology. Provides support to the student affairs division as needed, including assisting with admissions, orientation and advising and developing intervention strategies to improve student retention, particularly for students with disabilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in education, special education, counseling, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, social work or related field
One (1) year of experience working with students with emotional, physical and learning disabilities
Experience with case management
Experience reviewing and interpreting medical documentation

Title: Police Officer
POSITION SUMMARY Under general supervision, performs all duties of a Police Officer, including enforcing applicable laws, ordinances, policies and procedures. Patrols the campus by foot, bicycle or motor vehicle.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/ JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Protects life and property of the general public within the jurisdiction of the Nashville State Community College Police Department. Responds and takes the lead in atypical situations and emergencies, until relieved by higher authority. Assists with training activities and in-service presentations for other Police Officers, Security Officers and the campus population. Observes and reports suspected crimes, accidents or activities of a questionable/suspicious nature. Discourages unlawful activities. Works with the Chief of Police to plan, organize and implement security for campus functions, special events, crisis management and disaster planning.
Reports incidents involving persons or property, reporting likely cause of accidents, pursuing appropriate course of action and informing proper authorities as required. Cooperates with other law enforcement officials and jurisdictions and testifies in court or legal proceedings as required. Operates and maintains safety and security department equipment. Keeps records and makes reports. Makes recommendations to the Chief of Police on the development and implementation of comprehensive security programs, policies and procedures. Serves as liaison with contract security company and officers. Provide guidance in coordination with Chief of Police for the contract security officers. Responds to requests for assistance, such as jump-starting cars, unlocking doors, giving directions, etc., from students, faculty and staff. Maintains all training to ensure P.O.S.T certification is current.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or educational equivalent
Two years of work experience in law enforcement
Possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license. Out of state applicants must obtain a Tennessee driver’s license within thirty (30) days of hire
Current certification by the Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Commission, per TCA 38-8-107, or the ability to become P.O.S.T. certified within six (6) months of hire.

POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Title: Instructor, Art - 9/10 month (Term)
POSITION SUMMARY This position is a nine-month faculty position responsible for preparing and delivering quality instruction in Art in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned, predominantly Introduction to Art (Art Appreciation) courses, and others that may be assigned. This position will be based on the White Bridge Road campus with teaching assignments on all Davidson County campuses and prison sites. Additional teaching assignments are possible at any campus or site at which NSCC instruction takes place. Within a minimum workweek of 37.5 hours, faculty are expected to teach a minimum of 15 hours and hold in-person and virtual office hours as defined in College Policy.
Work with Course Lead, Department Chair, and Dean to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the college’s learning management system (D2L) to provide accurate and updated course materials to students. Submit updated and accurate syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check NSCC email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours, except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return questionnaires and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines.
Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Provide academic advising to students with an emphasis on retention and success. Remain current in the teaching area(s) through appropriate professional development activities. Actively participate on committees within the Department of Art, the School of Arts and Humanities, and college-wide committees. Collaborate in building and maintaining relationships within and beyond the institution. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines. May perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree or higher in Art, Applied Art, Studio Art, Visual Art, Painting, Drawing, Ceramics, Sculpture, or Art History; OR
Master’s degree or higher in another discipline and at least 18 graduate semester hours in Art, Applied Art, Studio Art, Visual Art, Painting, Drawing, Ceramics, Sculpture, or Art History.
